Oh, my, is that hair real? And why gather dandelions? For dandelion wine or a bouquet or?
What a remarkable portrait/snapshot in time you’ve captured here, Dan.
The hair caught my eye. This subject was originally sitting on some steps puffin’ a heater with that crazy hair. I caught this vision out of the corner of my eye as I sped past the intersection. When I turned around and arrived back at the intersection she had walked across the street to acquire a fist full of dandelions – I caught her in the act of stealing dandelions from her neighbor. I did not inquire as to their purpose.
Stealing dandelions. Now that’s a felony if ever there was one. Hilarious.
Here’s another dandelion story: When my girls were preschoolers, they set up a stand to sell dandelions on Mother’s Day. I think the cost was like a dime a bunch. You would not believe how many people walking along our busy street bought bouquets and paid more than a dime. But the real kicker was when the neighbor kids across the street came over and bought a bunch. Their yard was filled with dandelions.
I was having a hard time taking the photo because I was laughing so hard at what I was seeing. The dandelion bouquets are precious. I’ve never seen a stand like that, but would love to photograph something like that. I see lots of cool-aid stands. I haven’t photographed them from the car yet – don’t want to send out a weird vibe and have the cops chasing me down. People are a bit more sensitive these days; rightfully so.
Awesome color combo
