This image reminds me of a trail my husband and I walked yesterday in a Rice County park. It had obviously been washed out with stone gone, tree roots exposed and obvious channels carved in the dirt by water. Definite erosion similar to that in your image.
The contrast and simplicity of colors make this photo intriguing.
