You may have noticed some interesting looking abstracts lately on blogs or facebook. \u00a0The results achieved with only a few clicks is…well, you be the judge.<\/p>\n

In PhotoShop<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open any photo<\/li>\n
  2. Filter –>Pixelate\u00a0–>Mezzotint\u00a0–>Medium Lines<\/li>\n
  3. Filter\u00a0–>Blur –>Radial blur (slider =1oo, blur method = zoom, quality = best)<\/li>\n
  4. Repeat step 3 up to 5 times as desired<\/li>\n
  5. Duplicate layer<\/li>\n
  6. On original layer…Filter\u00a0–> Distort\u00a0–> Twirl (angle value = +80 or whatever you think looks interesting)<\/li>\n
  7. Select new layer…Filter\u00a0–> Distort\u00a0–> Twirl (angle value = -80 or whatever value you used in step 6)<\/li>\n
  8. Alter new layer’s blending mode to lighten<\/li>\n
  9. Merge layers<\/li>\n
  10. Done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To add some extra flavor, use different slider values and experiment with different Pixelate, Blur and Distort methods as well as layer blending modes. \u00a0Creating an abstract from any photo can be done quickly by recording an action with the different variables you find most interesting.<\/p>\n
