Murnau am Staffelsee<\/h1>\n

Murnau am Staffelsee\u00a0is a market town in the\u00a0district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the\u00a0Oberbayern\u00a0region of\u00a0Bavaria, Germany.\u00a0\u00a0The market originated in the 12th century around Murnau Castle. Murnau is on the edge of the\u00a0Bavarian Alps, about 70 kilometres (43\u00a0mi) south of\u00a0Munich. Directly to its west is the\u00a0Staffelsee\u00a0lake and to the south are the peaks and ridges of the\u00a0Ammergauer Alps.\u00a0 ~wikipedia<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We very much enjoyed our trip to Murnau.\u00a0 A very cozy community with the Alps as a backdrop.\u00a0 We traveled there on a Sunday by train from Munich.\u00a0 Unfortunately a lot of shops where closed.\u00a0 I would have loved to see the local bakery and butcher shops.\u00a0 The ice cream shop was open and had quite the crowd surrounding it.\u00a0 There was what appeared to be the local brown fuzzy town dog doing his rounds.\u00a0 No owner immediately identifiable.\u00a0 Perhaps it was combing the street for any ice cream accidents.\u00a0 Nothing says happiness like a small child with an ice cream cone.\u00a0 Little Girl Power was adorable.\u00a0 Ice cream also makes this big kid smile.\u00a0 I had the most fantastic pistachio ice cream.\u00a0 Yum…happy.<\/p>\n

Staffelsee<\/a> was beautiful.\u00a0 A very nice recreational lake with seven islands.\u00a0 Access to those island is restricted to non-fuel-powered means; meaning you can only get there by swimming, sailing, rowing or surfing.\u00a0 The ferry only stops at one of the island during the summer months to bring supplies to the campground there.<\/p>\n

We took a ride around the lake on the MS Seehausen<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>while enjoying a nice cold beer.<\/p>\n

Lido BEACH & BURGER<\/a><\/h1>\n

There is a nice spot right on the lake to kick back and – yep, they serve cold beer.\u00a0 Lido beach & burger serves a great burger too.\u00a0 I am glad we hung around for a while and had a bite to eat as well.\u00a0 The sunset was pretty amazing.\u00a0 We met a very outgoing duck which we named Marge the Mallard.\u00a0 A perfect day all around; a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of Munich.\u00a0 It is hard to beat a day filled with adventure, great people, laughter and beer.\u00a0 Prost!<\/p>\n
