I really love this photo. I am a farm girl at heart, even though I have lived in St Paul for 30+ years now! There is an element of sadness here, too, as the farmhouse isn’t visible. I have noticed so many farmsteads where there are still out-buildings standing (in various conditions) but the house is gone. I often wonder where they family went. Is it like my family, where there was no one left who wished to carry on the very hard work of the farm, or was it death that caused the family to leave. Always wondering.
