Every time my husband and I day trip through southeastern Minnesota, we wonder how many branches of the Zumbro exist. I love how it twists and turns along back gravel roads where nary a motorist travels.
I am not sure what the technical definition of a “branch” is. They are sometimes referred to as forks as well. I see a North and Middle forks along with a North Branch in addition to the main river. It is a fun river to kayak. SE Minnesota has some wonderful waters to explore. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/watertrails/interactive_map/index.html
I do like this shot, especially when opened up into a larger frame. I like the ‘spring….end of winter ‘ colour palette very much. The branch, indeed, makes the photo ‘sing’
This is a very beautiful image… I enjoy the colors here.
