\"reflection\"<\/a>It is that time of year when you reflect back on the year you just experienced. Reflecting back on the past enables you to understanding from where you have come. \u00a0That is key in any plan for moving forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

Creating photographs is one thing. \u00a0Blogging about these photographs is a whole other deal. \u00a0It take time, effort and thought. \u00a0It’s work. \u00a0But it is fun work.<\/span><\/p>\n

I began in 2011 without a clue. \u00a0A blog seemed like a fun thing – a way to grow my photography by sharing with a vast community. \u00a0I shared\u00a01170 photos from Sept-Dec. and had 15,000 visitors. \u00a0I was fortunate enough to be Freshly Pressed<\/a> three months into my new blogging experience. \u00a0It was an eye-opening to say the least. \u00a0The busiest day of the 2011 was November 17th with\u00a03,043\u00a0views. \u00a0My post,\u00a0PHOTOGRAPHY PURIST. WHATEVER\u2026<\/a>, netted 10,000+ views overall and lots of wonderful feedback. \u00a0This was just the boost I needed to keep me motivated and pressing forward (no pun intended). \u00a0 \/\/2011 full report<\/a>\/\/<\/p>\n

2012 was a great experience in photography and blogging. \u00a0I averaged just under two posts per week – adding\u00a098\u00a0new posts, growing my total archive to 158 posts. \u00a0I think blogging \u00a0about my photography encouraged me to see photographs in\u00a0almost every direction I would look. \u00a0There is no shortage of interesting subjects surrounding you. \u00a0All you have to do is see them; that is what I think 2012 was all about for me. \u00a0At 45,000+ views from 76 countries, I really feel like I reached out and shared a great deal of myself and my photography. \u00a02012 was the year I began my monthly “revisited” posts where I would go back through my photos of the month and create black and white conversions on my favorite images. \u00a0\/\/2012 full report<\/a>\/\/<\/p>\n

\"outdoorguyphotography-3531\"<\/a>In 2013, I added\u00a0179\u00a0new posts, growing my archive to 332 posts. \u00a0Cyndie and I traveled and photographed as much as we were able this year. Most notable was our two trips along Minnesota’s North Shore and our trip to Colorado when we were married. \u00a02013 was the year I started my weekly photo posts in addition to my monthly reviews and black and white conversion posts. \u00a0That seemed more plausible as a 365 project was more than I could commit to then. \u00a0This was a great exercise in seeing my everyday. \u00a0I captured some interesting aspects of normal life. \u00a0A lot of my weekly captures were on the road as I commuted to and from work. \u00a0I had two hours a day to view things differently. \u00a0Two hours a day to see different compositions of the same\/similar things in different light, weather and seasons. \u00a0At 49,000+ view from 96 countries, once again I feel like I put myself and my photography even further out there. \u00a0Another great year. \u00a0I thank everyone for the wonderful feedback and your continued visits to my humble little space on the Interweb. \u00a0\/\/2013 full report<\/a>\/\/<\/p>\n

\"Inspiration\"<\/a>Enough looking back. \u00a0What is in store for 2014? \u00a0A few Changes. \u00a0(1) I changed names. \u00a0I retired outdoorguyphotography and am now posting under my full name instead. \u00a0I feel like the name just didn’t fit anymore. \u00a0(2) I migrated away from WordPress.com and am hosting my blog. \u00a0I haven’t figured out what all this means just yet. \u00a0I don’t think you need to have everything figure out. \u00a0Sometimes you just need to go with. \u00a0With that spirit in mind, I did. \u00a0This venture has not been without challenges. \u00a0The biggest one so far is the separation from the WordPress community. \u00a0More on that later.<\/p>\n
