The Glends of Antrim<\/h1>\n

The Glens of Antrim<\/b>,\u00a0known locally as simply The Glens<\/b>, is a\"The<\/a> region of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It comprises nine glens (valleys), that radiate from the Antrim Plateau to the coast. The Glens are an area of outstanding natural beauty and are a major tourist attraction in north Antrim. The main towns and villages in the Glens are Ballycastle, Cushendun, Cushendall, Waterfoot, Carnlough<\/a> and Glenarm.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“An area of outstanding beauty” is an understatement. \u00a0We traveled through and around Ballycastle, Cushendun, Cushendall and Waterfoot. \u00a0In Waterfoot we stopped at a filling station to get some coffee and use the toilet. \u00a0Check it out – back rest and all. \u00a0Fancy. \u00a0From Waterfoot we headed West to Glenariff Forest Park. \u00a0From the park we navigated the side-roads atop of the glens all the way back to Ballymoney where we were staying. \u00a0The Gorse hedge rows lined most roads throughout County Antrim. \u00a0The were nearly in full bloom in mid-April. \u00a0The brilliant yellow flowers\u00a0provided a pop of contrasting color to the lush green and drab brown that made up most of the landscape. \u00a0Baby lamb season was in full swing as too.\u00a0\u00a0We stopped many times to\u00a0see them throughout the trip.<\/p>\n
